What Massage Services are best for you?
There are many massage styles practiced today. One style is usually not the best solution for each client. Thus, Rothrock Massage uses an integrative approach to massage. Each session is usually a combination of massage techniques from various styles. Thus, each session is tailored to each client’s needs. The massage techniques used are drawn from Sports Massage, Deep Tissue Massage , Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy and bodywork for a more dynamic and transformational healing massage.
Massage for Stress and Tension
Are you feeling the stress from the day-to-day grind or a life-changing occurrence? Is an injury getting you down? Or is sitting at a desk for long periods of time causing shoulder & neck pain? If any of these are true, a therapeutic full body massage or a neck and shoulders massage will leave you feeling completely relaxed and energized. In a full-body massage, the therapist will integrate various massage techniques such as Swedish massage and deeper tissue techniques into at least 60 minutes. That’s the amount of time needed to massage all major areas including back, shoulders, legs, feet, arms, hands and neck. If you have problem areas, but don’t want other areas to be shortchanged, make an appointment for a longer session. That way you can get a full body massage along with the more focused work that you need in specific areas.
If you have excess tension in the neck and shoulders, you might want the massage therapist to spend the entire time on that area. Different massage techniques such as myofascial release and deep tissue therapy will help relieve the tightness and leave you feeling invigorated. The therapist will work with you to determine what is most appropriate for you.
Massage for sore, overused muscles and injuries
Weekend joggers to world-class professional athletes and even those that have strenuous jobs will benefit from a massage that addresses the aches and pains caused by overuse or injury. A combination of sports massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage and positional release techniques are used to relieve pain and increase mobility. This type of massage focuses on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive aggressive movements. Each session is customized to each client’s needs and the specific sport or activity that they do.
Therapeutic Preventative Massage
Along with relieving stress and tension, getting regular massages reduces the muscle tightness that comes with your daily life. Computer work, injuries and repetitive activity are some of the most common causes. Regular therapeutic massage is not only relaxing, it elongates the soft tissues providing more flexibility to prevent tension and injuries. Massage boosts the immune function by increasing lymphatic and blood flow. It can also help manage anxiety, digestive disorders, headaches, insomnia-related to stress and myofascial pain syndrome. If you are interested in adding regular massage to your routine, Rothrock Massage offers massage packages. See the Scheduling page for more information.
Sports Massage for Performance
Athletes and sports teams at all levels are discovering the benefits of regular massage to achieve optimal performance. More than just a treatment for injuries, regular sports massage produces overwhelming benefits for athletes physically, physiologically, and psychologically. Delayed on-set muscle soreness, that muscle soreness that comes a few hours after a workout, is a common setback for most athletes. Research shows that regular sports massage reduces the soreness experienced, improves lymph and blood flow and increases muscle flexibility to accelerate recovery and prevent injuries. Regular sports massage also reduces the stress felt from combining day-to-day life with the rigors of high performance. Even the athlete training for one event will benefit from a regular sports massage program. See the scheduling page for Massage packages.
